Recently, there has been talk of anterior cruciate ligament disease. Most breeds are affected. Large and giant breeds are affected at a younger age than small breeds. Diagnosis is made by clinical examination and supported by imaging. Treatment of anterior cruciate ligament rupture is most often surgical, but non-surgical therapy is also possible. Studies have shown the benefit of rehabilitation in the treatment of anterior cruciate ligament rupture.
